Is this Viral Chicken Shop in London worth it?

There’s nothing like a fan favourite, Chicken and Chips! It’s a classic, a staple, a meal eaten far and wide across the UK. We recently sought out a VIRAL rotisserie chicken and chip shop named: Bébé Bob; a restaurant that is winning with its name - but is it winning with its chicken? We’re going to find out…

They say that this restaurant was ‘born out of a love for rotisserie chicken, caviar and fine wine’ and to be fair we can imagine that a lot of people share those loves! We’re definitely there, at least for the chicken! Bébé Bob is a sibling restaurant to Bob Bob Ricard and it’s located in the Golden Square in Soho - and it’s definitely the most ‘glamorous rotisserie’ we’ve seen.

Bebe Bob wins name of the year on the restaurant front, a restaurant that solely sells rotisserie chicken and chips…but will it actually win on the delicious scale???

Bébé Bob focuses on doing one thing - Rotisserie Chicken and Chips and you know our key saying: If they only do one thing then that thing is probably gonna be incredible!

It’s an interesting thing to note when you look at a restaurants menu. Does a restaurant have a really wide ranging menu or a very focussed, finely curated one. There’s pros and cons to both, but the trend seems to be the restaurants that focus on fewer things tend to do them maybe a little better.

We went in for the express lunch, as the menu can be quite pricey otherwise - so you need to watch out for that. With the express lunch you get a salad and fries included with the chicken for the extravagant price of £24 opposed to just the rotisserie chicken for £29 in the evening.

Now as you know, we’re big olive lovers! Olives, bread and crisps are our favourite food and when we go out we must get the olives! You know when those Olives just smack. These ones were really good - they were meaty and full of flavour. We also got some bread which was expensive: £4 for four pieces of bread, seriously? But, once you get over the price you realise that this is the kind of exquisite, sweet, delicious, mouthwatering bread that you get in the far off lands of France. It was absolutely banging.

Finally, on to the main event. The salad, chicken and chips. Shall we start with the chips? The chips were excellent, very hot and crispy on the outside which is essential in a well cooked chip. It also had some kind of delicious seasoning to give it that extra bit of something that really made it slap. On to the chicken... If you’ve ever had the good fortune to enjoy a supermarket rotisserie chicken you will know how delicious it is. Filled with all the juice, the moist perfectly cooked chicken and that crispy flavoursome skin, how do they do it? Supermarket rotisserie chickens are phenomenal and this chicken didn’t taste that far off it. It was juicy, but the skin wasn’t quite so crispy, and the flavour didn’t quite hit like that supermarket rotisserie.

To summate on this experience, it’s a good time, but if you’re really in it for the chicken it’s probably better to just go and get a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket. It’ll save you a whole lot of money and you’ll enjoy it just as much. There we go we said it and we’ll hold to it. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
