Under £50 gift guide for the hardest people to buy for (middle aged men…)

Why are middle aged men SO hard to buy for? We don’t want to gift our Dad’s fudge and socks every year, we want to get them something helpful and that they will actually use! These gifts have all been approved by Papa Booth, so if you don’t like any of them, you can take it up with him… 🤪

  1. Acorn Vase (£30)*- This is pretty niche, but is v cool and as Papa Booth always says ‘I just love a nice object!’ and this definitely fits in the category.

  2. USB Cup Warmer (£13)- When have you ever seen a cup of tea be finished by a middle aged man? They always seem to leave them to go cold. This is handy for anyone in an office!

  3. Multi-tool pen (£16)*- GADGETS GADGETS GADGETS, a Father favourite. This pen is very cool and feels like it would win the next peace prize.

  4. Card holder (£25)- Now there are loads of cool variations of these around, Papa booth in particular has a nifty titanium one he is very proud of, but this one has great reviews too!

  5. Massager (£39)- Me oh my! I kind of want to put this on my gift list. This is genuinely a life changer. it actually feels like you are getting cracked in half like a glow stick, it really gets in all of those nooks and crannies AND heats up. Great for when they just want to crack back and watch match of the day!

  6. Multi tool (13.59)- Another gadget, this one is just a solid, good, all round multi tool! What isn’t there to like.

  7. KNIVES- This one seems a little weird, we know! But a nice knife goes down with all the boys in our life. Opinel have some gorgeous ones or you could go for a classic pen knife!* Make sure you get it engraved too, just makes it extra personal. Or if you want to be extra generous, go for a leatherman (this gets the seal of approval from my Grandad too!)

  8. Meat Thermometer(£20)*- if your Dad is anything like mine, their BBQ is their pride and joy, so a meat thermometer is a great idea (no raw chicken thank you!)

  9. Heat Safe gloves (£13)*- for all of that BBQing and grill cleaning!

  10. Mini lego kits (£8.00 and up!)*- This one may seem rogue, but every boy I have ever bought a nano block kit for has LOVED it. It is always fun to get a kit on Christmas day AND it doesn’t take up so much space!

  11. Knife Sharpener (£20)- This is a tried and tested WONDERFUL knife sharpener!

  12. Wine pump (£30)*- Yet again another tried and tested gift. This wine pump keeps wine fresher for longer, so if you have a wine loving papa, this would be GREAT for them.

  13. Heavy duty apron £45- There are loads of these around, but I think this one is particularly good. For all of their DIY, meat grilling, or whatever else they get up to!

  14. Indoor Fireworks £15- This is another rogue one, but we do this every year at Christmas and it is SO. MUCH. FUN! They are really silly and actually quite naff, but always provide a giggle. A little bit of fun for the big kids!

There you go! Our big old list of gift ideas, we could provide you with lots more so please let us know what other gift ideas you would like to see. Hope this has helped a bit!

Lots of love,

Here and There
